ArtWalk app
Project type
Case Study
Date
October 2024
Location
Wilmington, NC
Role
UX Research and Design
The ArtWalk app case study was my first hands-on experience with UX research, completed as a solo project over the course of about three and a half weeks. The biggest challenge and greatest opportunity was learning the UX research process as I went. With no prior experience, I spent extra time revisiting resources, studying examples, and making sure I understood the purpose behind each phase. This project became not only a user-centered design exploration, but also a deep dive into how meaningful experiences are created through thoughtful research and strategy.
The project centered around Wilmington, North Carolina’s 4th Friday Art Walk, a monthly event where local galleries open their doors for an evening of art, connection, and community. Attendees can explore a variety of creative spaces, mingle with artists, and enjoy refreshments along the way. I wanted to purpose an app to make the event easier to navigate, especially for those unfamiliar with downtown Wilmington or the participating galleries.
That’s where the ArtWalk app comes in.
